The Los Angeles Lakers have decided to extend their qualifying offer to back up center Robert Sacre. Sacre averaged 1.3 points and 1.1 rebounds in 31 games with the Lakers in the 2012-2013 season. Extending the qualifying offer makes Sacre a restricted free agent.

While Dwight Howard was out during the preseason Sacre played well becoming a crowd favorite. Although not receiving much playing time during the season he brought a lot of energy from the bench. He was selected by the Lakers in the 2nd round of the 2012 draft with the 60th pick. Sacre played his college basketball at Gonzaga where he averaged 9.4 points and 5 rebounds.
